Q: What happens if a customer drops out of the checkout?
A: A charge is applied if we have to process at least one shipping address.
For Shopify Plus merchants that configured Address Validator to load during checkout, a charge is applied if the customer drops out of the checkout after specifying the shipping address. For other merchants, no charges will be applied for abandoned carts since the validation happens after checkout.
Q: What if the customer changes their address?
A: You will only be charged once per order, regardless of how many times the customer changes the shipping address.
